Working with Projects

With a project you can run a solution several times, changing some resources or parameters (e.g. location, sowing date, fertilization rates, etc). While a ModelSolution can be run standalone (without a SimulationProject), a SimulationProject can only be executed with a ModelSolution.

Material

 

For doing the tasks you will need to install the Eclipse IDE with SIMPLACE projects. The fastest way to get started is to:

1.Download the portable version of SIMPLACE with pre-configured Eclipse from the Install and Setup page

2.Once downloaded, unzip the files in your folder of preference (we normally recommend to place it in your home folder, e.g. "Documents\" or "C:\Users\<your.user.name>\")

3.Further instructions are provided in the simplace_portable\ReadMe.txt file.

 

The training material are within the unpacked sub-folders:

1.Example files are in simplace_modules/test/training/

2.Java files to run the examples are in simplace_modules/runs/net/simplace/sim/runs/training/

 

If you did some changes in the solution files in Eclipse, but you want to work again with the initial version of the solutions

then Revert the simplace_modules/test/training/project folder by: right click on the folder and choose Team->Revert.
