Training

This training series aims to help a modeler to start working with SIMPLACE. Before start, you must first install the Eclipse IDE (Install and Setup).

 

The difficulty level of this training tutorial starts with very easy tasks, and then increases to the more complex ones. The training tasks are mostly independent, which means you may start or follow the tasks at any order that interest you.

 

The tasks are organized in the following way:

 1. Small description or discussion about the problem that has to be resolved

 2. The task, which has to be done

 3. Some hints, which will help you solve the task

 4. The solution. It can be as a description about what you should do or as exact solution file.

 

For you it's better if you try to resolve the task without looking at the solution. In the most cases hints can help you sufficiently. Any ideas or comments about the Training tasks are welcome and can be directly send to responsible persons of SIMPLACE

Installing the Eclipse IDE

 

The fastest way to get started is to:

1.Download the portable version of SIMPLACE with pre-configured Eclipse from the Install and Setup page

2.Once downloaded, unzip the files in your folder of preference (we normally recommend to place it in your home folder, e.g. "Documents\" or "C:\Users\<your.user.name>\")

3.Further instructions are provided in the simplace_portable\ReadMe.txt file.

 

 

The training material are within the unpacked sub-folders:

1.Example files are in simplace_modules/test/training/

2.Java files to run the examples are in simplace_modules/runs/net/simplace/sim/runs/training/
